The aplomado falcon (Falco~femoralis) is a medium-sized falcon with a lead-grey back, orange or rusty underparts, and a distinctive black-and-white striped face. It is found in open country, grasslands, and savannas throughout Central and South America, with a limited population being reintroduced in parts of the southern U.S..
