Black-necked swans will not be found much on land. This is because they cannot move well on land. Therefore, they spend most of the day in the water. There, they can dive up to three meters underwater to search for food or escape.Once swans are sexually mature at two years, it is time to find a mate. They are not looking for just any partner but one for life. From the moment they have found each other they stay together. The two of them build the nest. After this, the female will lay eggs and stay with the nest until they hatch. Once the chicks are born, it is wise to stay away from the swans because they are very protective.
